Einar Bjarnason was born on November 21, 1838 in N. Múlasýsla. He died on April 26, 1921 in the Valla Settlement in Saskatchewan.
Spouse: 1) September 28, 1867 Ólöf Einarsdóttir b. 1823 in S. Múlasýsla, d. 1885 in Pembina, N. Dakota 2) Ingibjörg Teitsdóttir b. December 17, 1852, d. May 18, 1940 at Betel in Gimli.

Ólöf was the widow of Þorkel Árnason (Scheving) and had these children with him: 1. Árni b. July 22, 1849 2. Einar b. October 17, 1852 3. Sigþrúður b. July 31, 1854 4. Runólfur d. 1860 5. Stefán b. May 10, 1858, d. November 28, 1877. He rests in an unmarked grave in Breiðuvíkur cemetery in the Hnausa Settlement 6. Guðrún b. June 7, 1860, d. July 1860 7. Guðrún b. June 26, 1862 8. Steinunn Björg b. July 31, 1865.
Einar and Ólöf came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and settled in Breiðuvík in the Hnausa Settlement. It was called Bjarkastaðir and was in the middle of the Hnausa Settlement. Reverend Jón Bjarnason celebrated his first visit to the young settlement on November 28, 1877 and more often later during his stay in New Iceland. They moved to Winnipeg in 1879 and from there in the spring of 1880 to Pembina, N. Dakota. There he married Einar and Ingibjörg and they lived there until 1902 but then they moved to the so-called Valla Settlement near Gerald, Saskatchewan.
