Einar Jónasson was born in Húnavatnssýsla in 1868. He died in Gimli in 1950.
Spouse: Elísabet Gunnlaugsdóttir b. 1872 í Húnavatnssýsla, d. in Gimli in 1947.
Children: 1. Jón Margeir d. 1903 2. Þorbjörg Jónína b. 1904, d. 1932 3. Margeir Osvald b. 1908 4. Valdheiður Lára (twin) b. 1908.
Einar and Elísabet emigrated west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1899 where they were married. They lived a short time in N. Dakota and then went west to Seattle but returned to Iceland in 1905. They seem to have been in the West Fjords when Elísabet had the twins in 1908. They moved again to Manitoba in 1910 and lived in Winnipeg. They were there until 1917 when they moved to Árnes, north of Gimli. He worked in Winnipeg during the summers, but ended up in Gimli his last years.
