Eiríkur was young when he moved to Vestmannaeyjar and then began sailing the world’s oceans. He was in Copenhagen at the same time as Oddný. They married and moved to N. Múlasýsla, and from there to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888. They later lived in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan.
