Elísbet was a widow when she moved to the Westmann Islands (Vestmannaeyjar) in 1904. Life’s road led her east to Seyðisfjörð and back to Eyja in 1907, where she married Sæmund. He emigrated west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1909. Elísabet arrived there in 1911 with the three children.
