Eyjólfur Björnsson was born in N. Múlasýsla on July 20, 1851. He died on September 15, 1928 in Minnesota. He took the name Bjornsson in the west, the only child of Björn Gíslason to keep the Bjornsson name, the other children took the name Gislason in the west.
Spouse: Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir b. June 20, 1851 in N. Múlasýsla, d. July 6, 1917.
Children: 1. Guðrún b. in Nova Scotia in 1880; d. young 2. Eyjólfur b. in Minnesota in 1882; d. young 3. Aðalbjörn (Abo) Ólafur b. February 8, 1888.
Eyjólfur and Guðrún emigrated west in 1880 and first lived in Nova Scotia. They moved to the Lincoln County Settlement in Minnesota in 1881. With them were Pétur, Eyjólfur’s youngest brother, and Solveig Guðmundsdóttir, Guðrún’s mother.
