Filippus Jónsson was born in Rangárvallasýsla in 1864. He died in the Lundar Settlement in 1937. He took the name Philip Johnson in the west.
Spouse: 1896 in Winnipeg, Þórdís Þorsteinsdóttir b. in Borgarfjarðarsýsla in 1869, d. 1948 in Winnipeg.

Filippus came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba before 1890 and lived there the first years. Þórdís arrived there in 1894, while her sister Vilborg had moved there in 1890. She lived with her sister the rest of her life. They moved to the Lundar Settlement in 1903 and took land near Otto. They lived there until 1924 when they moved to land near Lundar. When Filippus died, Þórdís moved to Lundar and later to Winnipeg where her children lived.
