Gísli Benjamínsson was born on March 10, 1829 in N. Múlasýsla. He died on January 20, 1916.
Spouse: September 9, 1853 Guðbjörg Daníelsdóttir b. May 20, 1831.
Children: Gisli was married before. These came west: 1. Gísli b. July 20, 1851, d. March 7, 1874. 2. Guðný b. September 14, 1852. Together this couple had 10 children, but only one survived and went with them west: Sigbjörn (registered as Benson in the west) b. January 8, 1868.
They came west in 1876 and went on to New Iceland. They took land in the Hnausa Settlement and named their landAðalból. They lived there for three years, but then moved to Winnipeg where they lived for another three years. From there they made their way to N. Dakota in 1882 and settled in the so-called Pembina Mountains. They lived there for 25 years.
