Grímur Steingrímsson was born in Borgarfjarðarsýsla on June 9, 1863. He died on April 23, 1948 at Betel in Gimli.

Children: They had no children but Júlía had two children with her first husband, Jóni Einarsson: 1. Einar b. 1884 2. Kristín Appollína.
Grímur came west in 1882 with his parents, Steingrímur Grímsson and Guðrún Jónsdóttir. He moved with them to Garðar and then Milton in N. Dakota. He first took land in Ramsey County, N. Dakota but moved from there in 1903 to Alberta. There he took land north of Markerville. He sold all of it in 1912 and moved to Red Deer. He lived there a few years before moving to Calgary where he had a smithy. Júlía had a Scottish father, but her mother was Guðlaugur Ásgrímsdóttir from Skaftafellssýsla.
