Guðbjörg was a widow when she sailed west in 1891. She had relatives in Milton, N. Dakota and that is where her daughter Ingibjörg settled around the turn of the century. Ingibjörg’s husband, Baldvin Jónsson, took land in Manitoba a short distance from Arborg and when they moved there, Guðbjörg went with them.
