Guðbjörg Guðbrandsdóttir was born on May 22, 1863 in Snæfellsnessýsla. She died about 1960 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Spouse: 1) Jón Jónsson b. August 7, 1856 in Dalasýsla, d. in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 30, 1904 2) Vigfús Jónsson Vopni b. in N. Múlasýsla in 1872.
Children: 1. Katrín, died just one year old. 2. Sigþrúður Kristín Gísladóttir, foster daughter, d. August 18, 1906 3. Karl Hansson, Guðbjörg’s brother’s son.
They emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1883. They lived there two years, but then took land in the Argyle Settlement in 1885. They moved in 1890 to the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan where they lived the next three years with Guðbjörg’s brother, Guðbrandur. They returned to Winnipeg and lived there and Jón worked in home construction. He died in an accident in the city. Guðbjörg moved west to the Pacific where she met Vigfús. They later lived in Blaine, Washington.
