Guðmundur and Sigríður came west with their son Guðmundur in 1875. They first lived in New Iceland and then moved south to Hensel, N. Dakota. Jón came west in 1883 and lived with them in Hensel until 1902 when they moved to the Geysir Settlement and named their land Hvamm.
