They came west to Minnesota in 1877 and were early Icelandic settlers in Lyon County, a short distance from Minneota. In 1912 they sold their land and moved north to Roseau, Minnesota and were their three years before moving back to Minneota. Guðný’s mother, Katrín Jónsdóttir, came west with them.
