Guðný, a single mother, emigrated to Winnipeg in 1897. She found work and appeared to have adjusted quite well. Sigtryggur had emigrated to Winnipeg in 1888. They lived in Winnipeg for a few years but in 1902 they moved and settled in Framnes- and Ardals Settlement.
