Guðrún Arnfinnsdóttir was born in Snæfellsnessýsla in 1862. She died in Victoria, British Columbia on May 8, 1915.

Guðrún emigrated in 1886 while her siblings Björn and Elísabet had come west in 1883. Guðrún moved to Victoria shortly after coming west. Ólafur came west to Winnipeg in 1881 and lived there two years before moving west to the Pacific and settling in Victoria on Vancouver Island. He lived there the rest of his life.
