Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir was born in Gullbringusýsla on December 12, 1886. She died on March 10, 1984. She took the last name Magnusson in the west.

They came west in 1913 and lived a number of years in the Víðir-Sandy Hills Settlement without buying or taking any land, as all available land was taken. They moved back to Iceland in 1919 and Guðbergur died there. Guðrún then moved back west with the children in 1922 and back to Víðir-Sandy Hills Settlement. She managed to buy a few acres in the village and lived there.
