Guðrún Ingibjörg Magnúsdóttir was born on October 27, 1865 in S. Múlasýsla.

They came west in 1894 and spent the first winter in the Shoal Lake Settlement (Grunnavatnsbyggð) in Manitoba. They made their way to Winnipeg and lived there seven years. They then moved to the Lundar Settlement in 1902 and worked in agriculture until 1911. They moved from there to the Hnausa Settlement and lived there the rest of their lives.
