The couple came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba and from there went to the Argyle Settlement. After Sigurgeir’s death, Rósa took over the land and raised the children. She moved from there in 1909 and took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in the Kandahar/Dafoe community.
