Guðrún was the daughter of Kristín Jónasdóttir of Rauðseyjar in Dalasýsla and her husband, Sigurður Helgi Sigurðsson. They moved with Guðrún to Ólafsvík and from there to Reykjavík where they broke up. Shortly thereafter, Kristín moved west to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she lived with Guðrún until her death on August 3. Further information is needed about Guðrún.
