Guðrún Stefánsdóttir was born on August 5, 1894 in the Argyle settlement in Manitoba.
Spouse: June 2, 1915 Ágúst Theodore Björnsson b. in Edinborg, N. Dakota on July 8, 1889, d. in Winnipeg on January 6, 1948. He was known as Dr. Ágúst Blöndal in the west.
Children: 1. Harold b. June 18, 1917 2. Doris Marjorie b. August 19, 1921 3. Alvin Theodore b. March 1, 1924 4. Shirley Joann b. August 19, 1935.
Guðrún was the daughter of Stefán Pétursson and Geirþrúður Jónsdóttir in the Argyle settlement. Ágúst grew up in his parents’ home, first in N. Dakota for 3 years, then in Portland, Oregon another 3 years. The road led them to Winnipeg. There he attended elementary school and enrolled at the Manitoba Medical College where he graduated as a doctor in 1913. He practiced in Lundar for some time before going to Europe for graduate studies in 1921.
