Halldór Þorgilsson was born on November 3, 1830 in Dalasýsla. He died in N. Dakota on October 11, 1919.
Spouse: 1) Málfríður Tómasdóttir b. October 17, 1833 in Dalasýsla, d. about 1880. 2) Ólöf Kjartansdóttir b. in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1843, d. October 16, 1937.
Children: With Málfríður: 1. Þorgils b. 1858 2. Tómas b. April 7, 1863 4. Kristján b. 1868 5. Guðrún b. 1875. With Ólöf: 1. Friðrik Theodór.
Halldór came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and bought land in Mikley. He named his farm Kirkjuból and lived there until he moved to N. Dakota where he bought land in the Thingvalla Settlement.
