Hallfríður Jónsdóttir (Fríða) was born on April 2, 1890 at Hafþórsstaðir in Húnavatnssýsla. She died in 1977 in Langruth, Manitoba.

It is not known with certainty which year Hallfríður came west, but her mother, Kristbjörg Jóelsdóttir, came west in 1900. Hallfríður is mentioned in Iceland’s census of 1901, still living at Hafþórsstaðir. When Jóhannes died, Hallfríður lived on their land but moved to Arborg in 1920. She lived in Langruth with her second husband for some years.
