Hallvarður Ólafsson was born in Rangárvallasýsla on March 27, 1872. He died on May 29, 1914 in British Columbia.
Spouse: May 8, 1903 Gróa Sigríður Þorsteinsdóttir b. April 17, 1875 in W. Skaftafellssýsla, d. December 30, 1914.
Children: 1. Ólafur b. February 13, 1904, d. March 8, 1993. Lived in Prince Rupert in British Columbia, Canada. 2. Þórhildur b. February 4, 1907 3. Svanhvít b. May 30, 1908, d. October 26, 2000. Lived in Vancouver.
Hallvarður came west to Winnipeg in Canada in 1909 and Gróa arrived there in 1911 with their children. They lived in Manitoba for a year, but moved west to Queen Charlotte island in the Pacific.
