Henrietta Sigurjónsdóttir was born in 1884 in the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota. She died on November 5, 1972 in Saskatchewan. She was known as Hattie in the west.
Spouse: 1907 Friðrik Þorfinnsson b. in Skagafjarðarsýsla on January 12, 1881, d. in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) on March 30, 1947. He took the name Fred or Frederick Thorfinson in the west.
Children: 1. Sigurjón Arthur d. June 29, 1977 2. Þorfinnur Walter 3. Valgerður Elizabet Pearl.
Henrietta was the daughter of Sigurjón Sveinsson and Valgerður Sylvía Þorláksdóttir, pioneers in N. Dakota. Friðrik came west in 1882, one year old, to Winnipeg, Manitoba with his parents, Þorfinnur Jóhannesson and Elísabet Pétursdóttir, and siblings. The family settled in Mountain, N. Dakota. In 1905 Friðrik took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan about the same time as his father in-law, Sigurjón Sveinsson. Friðrik and Henrietta moved there a year later.
