Hólmfríður Sigurveig Gísladóttir was born in Dalasýsla on December 7, 1873. She died in the Argyle Settlement on November 25, 1905.

Árni came west with Sigurður Sigurðsson and Margrét Einarsdóttir in 1883. He was with them for some years, lived in the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan around 1905, but moved that autumn to the Argyle Settlment and lived close to Markús Jónsson. He later lived in Baldur and eventually ended up at Betel in Gimli. Hólmfríður came west with her widowed mother, Sigríður Bjarnadóttir, and siblings in 1893 and lived in the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan. Hólmfríður died after giving birth in 1905.
