Hólmfríður Jósepsdóttir was born in Snæfellsnessýsla on May 26, 1857.
Spouse: 1885 Pétur Bjarnason b. in Gullbringusýsla on November 21, 1854, d. in Arborg, Manitoba on August 19, 1921.
Children: With first husband: 1. Guðrún Jónsdóttir b. 1879. With Pétur: 1. Pétur Kristján b. April 9, 1885 2. Sigurlaug, died young 3. Jónína b. November 27, 1890 in Mikley 4. Bjarni b. October 6, 1895.
Hólmfríður came west in 1882, a widow, to Winnipeg, Manitoba with Guðrún, aged 3 years. Guðrún married Pétur Valdimar Sveinsson of Barðastrandarsýsla and lived in the Lundar Settlement. Hólmfríður moved to Mikley and lived there until 1893 then moved to the Ísafold Settlement and lived there until 1903. They moved to the Lundar Settlement and lived there until 1919 when Pétur sold his land and they lastly moved to Arborg.
