Ingibjörg was the daughter of Jónatan Davíðsson and Sigurrós Hjálmarsdóttir. Ingibjörg and Guðmundur emigrated west to the United States in 1883 and were married on the way across the ocean. The first went to Pembina, N. Dakota, then moved to Helena, Montana, and finally to Spanish Fork, Utah. Guðmundur built houses, but when he retired they moved to California, where their son Paul was a doctor.
