They came west to the United States in 1887 and settled in Sayreville, New Jersey. They lived there until 1893 when they moved west to Winnipeg. A year later they took land in the Árnes Settlement in New Iceland and named their land Björk. In 1907 they moved to Selkirk and lived there. Ingibjörg had a daughter Sigurlaug (Mrs. H. G. Hart in Winnipeg) with her first husband.
