Jakob Björnsson was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1879.
Spouse: Stefanía Friðrikka Stefánsdóttir b. 1883 in N. Múlasýsla, d. 1942.
Children: 1. Baldur b. June 24, 1922. 2. Björg b. 1926, d. 1952.
Jakob came west with his parents, Björn Abrahamsson and Björg Vilhelmína Pétursdóttir in 1903. He lived on his parents’ land in the Framnes Settlement. During the summer, he worked in Winnipeg.
Stefanía came west in 1905 and married Kristján G. Johnson of Hallson, N. Dakota. They lived there but later moved to the Framnes Settlement. They returned to N. Dakota but divorced and Stefanía went back north to the Framnes Settlement with her two children, Sveinbjörn and Inga, and lived with Jakob and his parents.
