Jensína Júlía Daníelsdóttir was born in Snæfellsnessýsla on July 13, 1884. She died in Winnipeg on January 13, 1962.
Spouse: April 14, 1904 Guttormur Jónsson Guttormsson b. in the Fljóts Settlement in New Iceland on November 21, 1878, d. in Manitoba in 1966. He had the name Guttormur J. Guttormsson in the west.

Jensína came west in 1894 with her parents, Daníel Sigurðsson and Kristjana Jörundsdóttir. They settled in the Shoal Lake Settlement (Grunnavatnsbyggð) in Manitoba. Guttormur grew up at Víðivellir in the Fljóts Settlement, lost his mother at the age of eight and his father at the age of eighteen. He went to school in the area, worked in Winnipeg for the CPR railway company, but then bought his father’s land in the Fljóts Settlement in 1911 and lived there the rest of his life. Early on he began to write and compose.
