Jóhannes Halldórsson was born in Aðaldal in Þingeyjarsýsla on Sept. 9, 1857. He died in September 1935. He took the last name Frost in the west.
Spouse: Nov. 28, 1878 in Minneota, Borghildur Guðbrandsdóttir b. in Gullbringusýsla in 1845, d. Dec. 23, 1932 in Lyon County, Minnesota. She also was known by the last name Ingjaldsdottir.
Children: 1. Charles Alexander b. Sept. 19, 1879 2. Ella Regina b. July 7, 1881 3. Jennie Magnea b. May 13, 1886 4. Kristín Sigríður (Sigga) Oct. 6, 1888; d. February 1980.
Jóhannes emigrated west in 1873 and landed in Wisconsin in 1874. He lived there for a few years and organized the first group of Icelandic settlers to the Lyon and Lincoln County Settlements in Minnesota. He moved to Minnesota and was among the first to buy land in Lyon County. Borghildur emigrated in 1873.
