Jóhannes Jónsson was born in N. Múlasýsla December, 1865. Died in Siglunesbyggð in Manitoba September 30, 1939.
Spouse: Ólöf Sigurveig Jónsdóttir b. March 23, 1871, d. November 3, 1949.

Jóhannes and Ólöf emigrated in 1901 and settled in Álftavatnsbyggð. Five years later, 1906, they moved their farm to a site near Vogar P.O. There Jóhannes’ farm grew and once his sons came of age they took over the farm and Jókannes retired. He was active in community affairs, sat on the schoolboard of the Siglunes School District
