Jón came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888 with his parents and siblings. Anna was the daughter of Jón Oddsson and Ragnheiður Vigfúsdóttir. She was in Reykjavík in 1890 but no doubt had come west before the turn of the century. They settled in the Hólar Settlement in Saskatchewan and lived on their land from 1903 to 1943. From there, their path lay west to Alberta and later to Gimli, Manitoba. They then moved from there west to Vancouver and Jón returned to Gimli, alone, and was there in 1964.
