Jón Júlíus Sveinsson was born on December 1, 1872 in the Westmann Islands (Vestmannaeyjar). He died on May 24, 1951 in Utah. He took the name Jon Julius Thordarson in Utah.
Spouse: 1) December 5, 1894 Emma Marie Jensen b. March 26, 1872, d. December 12, 1895, of Danish descent 2) January 3, 1906 Málfríður Ólafsdóttir b. December 16, 1883 in Borgarfjarðarsýsla, d. August 5, 1948 in Utah. She took the name Freida Thordarson.
Children: With Emma: 1. Christina Matilda b. October 26, 1895, d. February 11, 1927. With Málfríður: 1. Julius Svein b. October 30, 1907 2. Lawrence Erlendur b. October 27, 1910 3. Parley Eugene b. January 25, 1912 4. Helga Solveig b. January 12, 1914 5. Emma Pauline b. October 26, 1916.
Jón emigrated west to Spanish Fork, Utah with his parents in 1878. He went back to Iceland in 1903 as a missionary and baptized Málfríður in 1905 and returned to Utah the same year. She emigrated to Montreal in Canada and from there went to Utah. They lived in Cleveland, Utah.
