Eiríkur Jónas Daðason was born in Dalasýsla on August 24, 1876.
Child.
He came west in 1886 with his parents, Daði Þorleifsson and Kristín Eiríksdóttir. They settled in N. Dakota where Daði died in 1899. Kristín moved north a short time later to the Geysir Settlement in New Iceland and Jónas moved there with her.
