Katrín Jónsdóttir was born in Dalasýsla on April 4, 1865. She died in Blaine, Washington on January 17, 1944.
Spouse: 1) Erlendur Árnason b. in Borgarfjarðarsýsla on August 11, 1844, d. September 12, 1918. They broke up. 2) Leonard Wilde.
Children: 1. Soffía Guðmundsdóttir b. after 1890 in Winnipeg. Her father was Guðmundur Ögmundsson of Húnavatnssýsla. With Erlendur: 1. Katrín 2. Elín 3. Olga 4. Cornelía 5. Jón.
Katrín came west to Canada about 1890 and settled in Winnipeg. There she corresponded with Erlendur and decided to go to him in Utah. They lived in Spanish Fork. Around 1918, Katrín’s health deteriorated, and her children were adopted by friends and family. Katrín herself moved in with her daughter and namesake who then lived in Salt Lake City. From there she went west to the Pacific Ocean.
