Kristín Helgadóttir was born on November 7, 1888 in Mýrasýsla. She died in Iceland in 1962.
Spouse: May 22, 1914 Sigtryggur Tryggvi Kristjánsson b. in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on April 22, 1880, d. in Selkirk on August 24, 1969. They divorced.

Sigtryggur came west in 1888 with his parents, Kristján Guðmundsson and Helga Þórðardóttir, and siblings; they settled in Manitoba. Sigtryggur became a teacher and taught in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Kristín came west in 1913 and married Sigtryggur a year later in Wynyard in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð). They lived there until 1918, then moved from there to Lundar, Manitoba and lived there until 1925. The road led them to Gimli where they lived until 1930. Then Kristín moved to Iceland where she lived until 1947. She moved back west and lived in Gimli.
