Halldór came west with two of his daughters. They first lived in New Iceland, but moved from there to the western side of the Argyle Settlement. From there, they moved to the Hóla Settlement in 1898 where the family lived three years. They moved from there to Glenboro, Baldur, and finally Selkirk. They spent the rest of their lives in Manitoba.
