Kristín Ingibjörg Ólafsdóttir was born in N. Múlasýsla in 1887. She died in Seattle in 1957.

Kristín came west to Canada in 1892 with her parents, Ólafur Jónsson and Stefanía Jónsdóttir. Hannes took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1904 and settled there a year later. Hannes and Kristín lived there until 1926 when they moved to Wynyard and from there in 1929 to Winnipeg. They were there just a short time because the financial crisis hit and little work was available, so they moved to Mountain, N. Dakota. In 1944, they went west to the Pacific and settled in Seattle.
