Kristín Sigurðardóttir was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on July 17, 1889.
Spouse: February 26, 1910 Jón Gíslason b. November 20, 1883 in S. Múlasýsla, d. 1938 in Foam Lake in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan. He took the last name Breiðdal in the west.

Kristín came west in 1890 with her parents, Sigurður Stefánsson and Jósefína Guðmundsdóttir. They settled in the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota, moved north to Winnipegosis, Manitoba, and lastly moved to Vatnabyggð in 1905. They also took land near Foam Lake. Jón came west to N. Dakota in 1887 with his parents, Gísli Jónsson and Kristín Björnsdóttir. They settled in the Akra Settlement. Jón moved with his father to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) and took land near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He lived there the rest of his life.
