Valdimar Björnsson, Iceland’s long-time consul in Minnesota, said of her in a memoir that Stína Dalmann had been one of the most Icelandic people he had ever met, everything about her was so Icelandic. She lived for many years in Minneapolis and was a long-time member of the Icelandic Hekla Club in that city.
