Kristján Halldórsson was born in Lundar on February 27, 1891. He died in Manitoba on September 19, 1956.

Spouse: 1920  Guðlaug María Jónsdóttir b. 1898 in N. Dakota.

Children: 1. Roy Oscar b. in Winnipeg in 1925 2. Doris Guðrún b. 1926 in Lundar.

Kristján was the son of Halldór Halldórsson and Kristín Pálsdóttir who came to the West in 1887 and settled in the Lundar Settlement in Manitoba. Kristján and Guðlaug lived at first in Winnipeg, moved to Lundar in 1926 and from there to Eriksdale in 1927. Kristján had a machine shop there and sold home and life insurance. The depression hit and he got a job in Winnipeg in 1930 in the office of the insurance company. They stayed there until 1934, then went home to Eriksdale, where Kristján reopened his workshop. He worked there until the end of his life. Kristján was a great entrepreneur, he set up a power station for Eriksdale, he ran a moving company that handled transport to the northernmost settlements. His interest in politics became apparent early on, he sat in the provincial parliament for the Liberal Party in 1945-1956.
