They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887 and later moved to Minneota in Lyon County, Minnesota. They family is listed there in both the 1900 and 1905 census records. Kristján was the brother of Bergvin, and after his death, Kristján and Elísabet took in Bergvin’s daughter Elísabet as a foster child. They moved to Winnipeg and are listed in the census of 1916.
