Although it is not clear, they probably emigrated around 1890. They lived on the edge of Marshall, Minnesota and later moved to Watertown, S. Dakota where it is likely that Kristjan died. Their daughter Arnbjörg likely emigrated west from Fagradalur in N. Múlasýsla in 1893. It is not known whether Ragnhildur emigrated west.
