Kristjana Jónsdóttir was born on July 18, 1856 in Dalasýsla. She took the last name Eyolfson in the west.

Kristjana came west to N. Dakota after 1890. There in the Akra Settlement they started farming and lived until Þorsteinn’s death. Kristjana moved with some of the children to Lundar and stayed there until 1919. Then she took a train with the youngest children west to the Pacific Ocean and settled in the Osland Settlement where her eldest sons had settled.
