Kristrún Valgerður Pétursdóttir was born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on July 7, 1845. She died in Saskatchewan on February 19, 1921.

They came to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1893 and took land in the Argyle Settlement.
In 1909, they moved to Dafoe in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan. Þorlákur bought land right next to the town and lived there until 1921.
They then moved to Winnipeg where their daughters lived.
