Lárus Frímann Björnsson was born on September 26, 1841 in Dalasýsla. He died in N. Dakota on July 22, 1932. He and all the children took the last name Freeman in the west.

Spouse: Sigríður Eyvindardóttir b. 1837 in Dalasýsla, d. in N. Dakota on July 14, 1914.

Children: 1. Lárus Sigurður b. March 31, 1873 d. June 23, 1954 2. Gísli.  Sigríður also had children prior to this marriage: 1. Björg Stefánsdóttir b. 1855 2. Jón Jónsson b. 1856 3. Guðmundur (George Freeman) b. 1865.

They emigrated west to Ontario, Canada in 1874. The road led them to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they lived for some time. They moved east and north to Elk Rapids, Michigan where they lived a number of years. They next moved west and briefly lived in Minnesota before buying land in the Akra Settlement in N. Dakota in 1882. They lived there many years before moving to the Mouse River Settlement.
