Laufey Sigurrós Byron was born in Vestfold, Manitoba on August 27, 1900.
Spouse; June 8, 1923 Frank S Taylor b. in England in 1899. He moved to Canada with his mother in 1911.

Laufey was the daughter of Stefán Björnsson Byron and his wife Guðbjörg Sigurðardóttir who came west in 1893. Laufey was educated, attending a trade school in Winnipeg. She then worked in an office in the city before she married. She was appointed postmaster in Oak Point and held that position for 11 years. Frank joined the Canadian Army and fought in World War I. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge, returned to Canada, and took up mink farming.
