Magnús Brynjólfsson was born in Húnavatnssýsla on May 28, 1866. He died in Cavalier, N. Dakota on July 16, 1910.
Spouse: 1898 Sigríður Magnúsdóttir b. in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1875. She took the name Sarah Halldorson in the west.
Magnús came west to Ontario, Canada with his parents and siblings in 1874. They lived in Kinmount the first winter, but then moved to Markland, Nova Scotia the next year. They lived there until 1881 when the family moved to Duluth, Minnesota. A year later, they moved further west to the Thingvalla Settlement in N. Dakota. Magnús was schooled in the Icelandic communities in Markland and in N. Dakota. He lived the rest of his life in N. Dakota.
