Magnús Jónsson was born in 1865 in S. Múlasýsla. He died in 1902 in Selkirk, Manitoba.
Spouse: Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir b. in Húnavatnssýsla in 1873, d. 1943 in Vancouver, British Columbia. She took the names Ingibjörg Sanders and Eirikson in the west.
Children: 1. Halldór 2. Solveig 3. Sadie 4. Karl (Charlie) 5. Laugi.
Magnús came west to Nova Scotia, Canada in 1879 with his parents, Jón Eiríksson and Guðný Magnúsdóttir. They were in Markland for some time, but then moved west to Selkirk, Manitoba. Ingibjörg came west with her parents, Jón Jónsson and Rannveig Guðmundsdóttir, in 1887 and settled in Selkirk. There Ingibjörg met Magnús and they began farming. After Magnús died, Ingibjörg moved with the children to be with her father in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð), Saskatchewan. They took land there in 1908 but did not move there until 1912. She later moved west to be with her son Laugi.
