Oddný Gísladóttir was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla on September 9, 1860. She died in N. Dakota on May 21, 1948.
Spouse: 1885 Sigurður Kristjánsson born August 10, 1854 in Skagafjarðarsýsla. He died in N. Dakota on May 4, 1925.

Oddný came west to Canada in 1883 with a boy, Albert Eðvaldsson, b. 1879. Vesturfaraskrá says he was her son, but the Iceland census in 1880 says he was an adopted child at Halldórsstaðir in S. Þingeyjarsýsla where Oddný is listed as a maid. Albert is not mentioned in the main sources in N. Dakota. Oddný moved to N. Dakota in 1884 and lived there the rest of her life. Sigurður came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1882 and moved to the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota the same year.
